An exciting, faith enriching, church school program invites all
children from preschool age through grade six to join us. At First
Church you will find dedicated, caring volunteers sharing their
time and talents as loving, devoted teachers.
Our year begins with a fun filled "All Church" picnic on the
Sunday following Labor Day, welcoming everyone back into our fold!
Church school and worship run concurrent with one another and is
offered at 10:00-11:15 every Sunday, except for the summer when
worship is at 9:30. During June and July, vacations make attendance
lighter and we offer a less formal program to children. On the
second Sunday of each month children and parents join together in
worship for Family Sunday. The service includes children's choirs
and a story, prior to students departing for a class lesson.
Bible stories, prayers and songs are shared with children at all
grade levels. In our Pr-K and K classes "Hands-On Bible Curriculum"
is used and we have introduced a new educational approach to our
1st through 6th grade classes, the Workshop Rotation model. This
model incorporates different learning styles, using one or more of
the multiple intelligences and has generated much enthusiasm and
interest from both students and teachers!
During the year all students are invited to participate in
various mission projects and special programs. We conduct Bible
workshops for all fourth grade students prior to presenting them
with a Bible. Fourth grade students also serve as acolytes for the
year.
Along with our church school classes, we have a warm, inviting
nursery/toddler room, where, year round, little ones are lovingly
cared for while mom & dad attend worship.
In every way we seek to provide children with a sense of who God
is, God's love for them, and how God's love is for all people. We
