This year we are providing an opportunity for the 1st -6th grade
students to serve the church as acolytes on Sunday morning with a
parent. Please call or email office to sign up for a Sunday
morning.
Instructions for Acolytes:
- Report to the Ushers 10 minutes before service begins.
- Usher will light the candle lighter.* Hold candle lighter in
front of you, tipped slightly forward with the flame pointing back
toward you. (One hand should be near the bottom of the candle
lighter and your other hand should be where it can adjust the knob
that regulates the length of the wick.)
- Both student and parent walk slowly down the aisle in a
dignified manner when designated by usher.
- When you reach the front of the church, proceed with lighting
the candles, beginning with the candle on your right...then the
left.
- After both candles are lit, extinguish the candle lighter by
pulling the wick in, using the knob. Immediately push wick back out
so the wax won't clog up the candle lighter.
- Turn to the right and walk back down the side aisle and return
the lighters to ushers.
