POSITION PROFILE


POSITION TITLE:                           Facilities Manager (Part-time)
FLSA:                                             Non-Exempt
WORK HOURS:  15-20 hrs/week  (15 hours include Sunday a.m. with the remaining hours firmly scheduled with the Church.) Responsibilities include oversight of seasonal switchovers of the a HVAC system, kitchen grease trap and kitchen hood cleaning and inspection, sexton house chimney cleaning, fire marshal inspections, backflow inspections, etc.  The remaining 5 hours are on-call hours depending on each week's events.

POSITION REPORTS TO:              Office Administrator/Manager

BASIC PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

As a part-time member of the staff, the Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the church buildings and grounds.   In coordination with the Office Administrator/Manager and the Trustees, hires external contractors and oversees their work.  This includes cleaning service, snow removal contractors, lawn service, electricians, plumbers, etc.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Responsible for scheduling appropriate cleanings and inspections of church systems, fire sprinkler inspections, lawn sprinkler inspections and seasonal shutoffs, etc.
  • Responsible for calling and scheduling contractors to make repairs if the Facilities Manager is unable to perform repairs. Responsible for overseeing the contractors' work.  This includes maintaining a log of work to be done, work accomplished and inspected.
  • Responsible for maintaining list of acceptable contractors for doing work on church property.
  • Responsible for maintaining the proper interior and exterior lighting.  Responsible for ordering and replacing burned out interior and exterior light bulbs.
  • Responsible for church sponsored event setup and breakdown, including wedding rehearsals, weddings, funerals and worship services.  (Per written procedures and work orders)
  • Responsible for maintaining proper inventory of products needed/used for the facility and ordering same.  Example: bathroom products, paper towels, hot and cold cups, napkins, etc.
  • Minor repair and painting needs of the facility.
  • Perform weekly property inspections, in conjunction with Church Administrator, for areas that need attention either by contractors or this position.
  • Responsible for the management and cleanliness of all building areas including the several facility storage areas.
  • Responsible for the management of all exterior Church signage.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and safety needs of the Church van.
  • Complete a walk thru of all building and grounds each day of work.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to define problems, and resolve them quickly.
  • Familiar with local building codes and regulations
  • Familiar with all current health and safety regulations.
  • Basic computer skills (Word and Excel)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels
  • Lift objects of up to 50 lbs.
